Contrary to popular belief, I'm still alive. Doing fine in my current job too.

I made the local news too.
Take a look

Can't say too much, but that image was a bit of a rush job.

When I registered for this site in Dec 2005, I had a vision of what the site was to become.

Well obviously, things are very different from what I had origianlly planned.

Ain't nothing wrong in dreaming big, I guess. Gives you something to work towards, even though the final result may not be the same as what you expected.

So then... the big question has appeared. Should I renew this site or not...?

Honestly, I'm not sure. And furthermore I can't really be bothered.

I'll say this much: this place is a good repository for my 3D artwork. Makes it easy for people to see what I've done and what I'm currently up to.

Let's not forget the linkies too.

I don't know about you, but I often use my own links page more often than my bookmarks cos it gives me a visual indicator of what site I'm heading to.

I think I'm going to need to ponder about this a bit more.

I've been learning 3DS Max recently and I'm not enjoying myself.

It takes a while to start up.

So long in fact that when I double click the icon, it takes a good 15+ seconds before the splash screen even appears to indicate the program is starting up.

The workflow is very object oriented, that much I can tell.

Tools like bevel, extrude, etc are all 'functions' of the objects in the scene. This is something I can understand due to my programming background, but it does get maddening at times when i try to model stuff.

I'm not able to select multiple objects and then perform vertex/polygon operations that encompass all selected objects.

And to top things off, the up direction is the Z-axis.
The Z-axis!! What on Earth is this rubbish?

Stuff that'd take me 15 min to model in Modo takes 2 freaking hours in Max.
Seriously it was never this bad when I made the transition from Lightwave to Modo.

Maybe i'm getting too old fashioned. I don't know.

I managed to buy a copy of Minna no Golf 5 two days ago.

Not bad, considering that a lot of the game shops here haven't been able to get any stock for the game.

Needless to say, I'm hooked.

I also downloaded the Bladestorm demo a few hours ago.

The game looks amazing, battle system is nice, allows you to customise your characters appearance and best of all, it features LIP-SYNC.

Maybe it's just me, but it's been a while since I played a Japanese game that had accurate lip-sync.

I hope the Japanese version has english text in it because I'm really tempted to get this the moment it comes out.

Last night's Dynamis session was pretty average, with 32 people showing up.

There were AF2 drops for BLM, RDM, SAM, DRK, DRG and NIN.

In the last 10 minutes, we were trying to wittle down the big group that spawned next to the boss icon, but a bad pull resulted in us getting swarmed by pretty much everything that was on the level.

In all honesty, it was hilarious.

I started modeling something new today.

For some strange reason, the phrase 'magic academy' was stuck in my brain the whole time.

My Warrior is now level 42 and my Ninja is level 31.

Not bad at all, considering my LS got KOed twice in the Promathia Mammet BC in Monarch Linn earlier today.

Had to re-install Lightwave on Sunday because of a job I had to do.

I don't have the words to describe how I felt at the time, but it was like slipping on an old pair of shoes again.

I got rid of the huge 400 x 300 image at the top of the page.
The place looks much more compact now.

Added a 'site news' box at the top of the left column.

I'm reorganising the links section.

Do take note that some of the artist links are not safe for viewing at work.
